Charles Leclerc – Richard Mille ‘Charles Leclerc’

Another watch robbery, unfortunately, took place two days ago when Formula One star Charles Leclerc’s special Richard Mille ‘Charles Leclerc’ got stolen. The watch is not available on the market but has an approximate value of more than USD 350,000.00 (production cost) and was made by the Swiss luxury brand, especially for the Monégasque racing driver.

According to Italian media, Leclerc and his trainer visited the Tuscan city of Viareggio when they were ambushed by fans. In the confusion that ensued, one thief slipped Leclerc’s watch off his wrist and made off with it.

It also features a dynamic veined appearance thanks to piled layers of quartz fibers sculpted with resin under high pressure and temperature.

Thanks to the skeletonized dial, Richard Mille’s complex movement design can be seen up close and personal. The RM 67-02 is powered by the in-house Caliber CRMA7 automatic-winding movement, which boasts a 50-hour power reserve. The transparency continues through the back case, where there is a secondary glimpse of the white gold rotor, as well as engravings on the outer casing that read ‘Charles Leclerc.’

In addition, the RM 67-02 Charles Leclerc Prototype comes with a flexible, seamless, comfortable strap with a top layer of red material to match the color scheme. It is the product’s lightest strap, tailored to fit the curvature of any wrist. The inclusion of the strap, the use of TPT synthetic materials, and the usage of grade five titanium for the dial, main-plate, and bridging all add to the watch’s low weight of 32 grams.
