A watch can disappear beneath a cuff. This one would rather start a conversation. On Future’s wrist, Hublot’s Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons turns a familiar silhouette into something unexpectedly playful.

From sculpture to wrist

Our Instagram post places Future in the silver version of Hublot’s new collaboration with Jeff Koons. It is an expressive choice: the reflective finish catches the eye before any specification does. Against a restrained outfit, the watch becomes the detail that changes the whole picture.

Hublot’s collaboration brings Koons’ Balloon Dog into the Classic Fusion collection. Instead of treating the artwork as a simple graphic on a dial, the design gives the watch itself an inflated appearance. The result feels closer to a small sculptural object that happens to tell the time.

The details worth a closer look

The silver edition uses polished stainless steel around a rhodium-toned dial. Rounded forms soften the case and bezel, while a grey rubber tail at roughly 10:30 adds an intentionally mischievous detail. Even before you notice the miniature dog on the seconds hand, the visual language is unmistakable.

That is what makes this collaboration interesting to us. There is a difference between recognising a famous name on a watch and recognising an artist’s way of looking at objects. Here, the appeal lies in the second: familiar components have been reconsidered until they feel slightly unfamiliar.
